Services and PricesQuilting services fall into several categories. Simple pantograph or meander, dense pantograph or meander, semi-custom quilting, and custom quilting. Quilts are priced on a price per square inch basis. To estimate the cost of quilting your quilt top, use this formula: Length x Width of quilt x Price for quilting chosen. Example: 84 x 100 x $0.01 = $84.00 for simple pantograph
Once your quilt is received and measured I will e-mail you with a quote for quilting. There is a $30.00 mimimum charge for quilting. I have many pantographs to choose from. If you don't see what you are looking for, please ask as I add patterns frequently. |

BindingI will make and apply binding to the front of your quilt if requested. You will need to complete the binding upon return of your quilt by hand stitching it to the back. Cost for binding is $0.10 / inch. Add the length of each side of your quilt and multiply by $0.10 to estimate cost. For example, the same 84 x 100 quilt shown above would cost $36.80 for binding. You will need to provide 1 yard of the fabric you have chosen for your binding. |

Tips for Successful Machine QuiltingTo maximize the beauty of your quilt, here are some tips you can follow when sending me your quilt: 1. Do not pin or baste pieces together. If your piece has a definite top and bottom please indicate the top with a safety pin. 2. Make sure that your backing and batting are 3" to 4" larger than your quilt top on all sides. 3. Press your quilt, trim threads, and check for loose or open seams. I charge $20 per hour to press and/or repair your quilt top prior to quilting. All tops are lightly pressed upon receipt to remove any wrinkles caused by packing and shipping. 4. Be sure you have squared up your quilt. Be sure to measure across the middle section of your quilt to determine the length of your border when applying. This will help to avoid those nasty flared borders that produce puckers when quilted. 5. If shipping your quilt, please be sure all pieces are put into a plastic bag in case your package gets wet in transit. 6. When piecing your backing fabric, be sure to remove selvedges before stitching. This will help to prevent puckering when your quilt is quilted. 7. Include any special instructions you may have on your order form. Please remember that your quilt will be as free of puckers / pleats as your piecing allows.
